With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, the composer and lyricist for Wicked, Pippin uses the premise of a mysterious performance troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, the son of the emperor Charlemagne and his quest to find meaning in his life.
