This album features songs from the hit Broadway musical, Annie, based upon the popular comic strip Little Orphan Annie.  A favorite among theatre-goers, Annie won seven Tony Awards in 1977 including Best Musical and Best Score. When Annie won Best Musical, its composer, Charles Strouse, was already well known for his other Tony-winning musicals: Bye Bye Birdie and Applause.
